Connecticut NEMT Broker Veyo Kicks Off Company-Wide Book Drive
Company hopes to encourage young students to develop interests in new subjects
Windsor, Conn (August 16, 2019) Veyo, the Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) broker for the state of Connecticut, today announced as part of the company’s commitment to charitable giving and community engagement, a book drive that will take place through August 23rd.
“We’re excited to help the local community with this book drive. Activities like this foster and encourage overall interest in education, and we take education very seriously,” said Veyo President, Josh Komenda. “Education is a huge part of building a strong community. And we’re committed to supporting the Connecticut community, whether it’s through improving their transportation, volunteering our time, or donating needed items.”
The book drive, which began August 5th will continue through August 23rd. Veyo will encourage all of its Connecticut employees – along with their families – to participate in the campaign. In addition to books, school supplies like pens, notebooks and backpacks are welcome. All books and additional supplies can be dropped off in the training room of the Veyo office.
“Book drives are a great way to help young students get ready for the new school year, and Veyo is happy to play a role. These books will introduce students to new ideas and fields, and we’re always excited to help encourage learning,” continued Komenda. “As a tech company, we have a soft spot for STEM programs, but we’re excited to encourage students to learn and grow regardless of the subject.”
The book drive will continue through August 23rd and will take place at the company’s Windsor office. All proceeds will be donated to The Goodwill’s Marshall House, a family shelter in the Asylum Hills neighborhood of Hartford.
