CONNECTICUT NON-EMERGENCY MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION BROKER VEYO CONTRIBUTES $1,000 TO LOCAL SCHOOL’S HISPANIC HERITAGE NIGHT
Veyo participated in the event as part of the company’s ongoing community outreach campaign
Windsor, Conn (October 11, 2019) Veyo, the Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) broker for the state of Connecticut, took part in the CREC Academy of Aerospace and Engineering’s (AAE) annual Hispanic Heritage Night held Thursday, October 3rd in Windsor, Connecticut. The event, now in its third year provides students and their families with an opportunity to celebrate Hispanic heritage and learn about the culture through a wide-range of family-friendly activities like dancing, music, vendors and raffles.
“Being involved in the community is an important element of our work at Veyo,” said Josh Komenda, President of Veyo. “As the state’s NEMT broker, our work is community oriented. Supporting that community allows us to create stronger relationships and further improve our services.”
In addition to the financial contribution, Veyo employees spent the event talking with AAE students who were curious to learn more about Veyo and the company’s market-leading technology like the Veyo Driver-Provider App, which increases driver efficiency by allowing them to accept and track trips in real time. Fliers were handed out to interested parents who wanted to learn more about the range of job opportunities at Veyo, including positions as Independent Driver-Providers (IDPs).
“This was a wonderful opportunity for our students and their families,” said Academy of Aerospace and Engineering Principal, Adam Johnson. “Veyo is using technology to make a real difference, and help people stay healthy. It’s a great opportunity to show our students – who all have interests in STEM – how technology can make an impact in their own communities.”
