Wisconsin driver FAQ

Does Veyo accept a medical marijuana card?

No. The drug test includes marijuana, and a medical marijuana card does not exempt you.

Do I need to visit an office to sign up in Wisconsin?

Yes. You take a CPR and onboarding class at the Middleton or Wauwatosa office, and your vehicle is inspected there by Veyo staff. Text (608) 315-4225 to book the class; inspections are walk-in.

Which parts of Wisconsin can I drive in?

Veyo drives Wisconsin Medicaid and BadgerCare Plus members to their appointments across the state, with offices near Madison and Milwaukee.

Do I need a Wisconsin driver's license?

Yes.

How much is the sign-on bonus in Wisconsin?

$1,000, paid as you complete trips in your first 60 days. See Pay and bonuses for the milestones.

Can I drive for Veyo in Wisconsin with a felony on my record?

No. Wisconsin drivers can’t have a felony conviction.

Is this a job or contract work?

You drive as an independent contractor, not an employee, so you choose when and how much you drive.

Who will I be driving?

Medicaid and Medicare members going to scheduled health appointments: dialysis, behavioral health, substance use treatment, primary care and physical therapy. These aren’t emergencies, so you don’t need medical training beyond CPR and First Aid. Some trips ask you to help the rider from their door to your car.

When are most trips?

Daytime, Monday through Saturday, roughly 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The app is open 24/7, so you can drive as much or as little as you want.

Can I also drive for Uber or Lyft?

Yes. Veyo doesn’t require you to be exclusive. Just set yourself as unavailable in the Veyo app while you’re on other trips.

Do I need special insurance?

No. Your personal auto policy is enough. A rideshare endorsement is recommended, not required.

Can I use a car I don't own?

Yes, if the owner authorizes it and you’re listed on the insurance. Rental cars usually can’t be used because rental agreements exclude commercial use.

Can I drive myself to my own medical appointments?
No. If your health plan uses Veyo, driving yourself is a conflict of interest. You may qualify for mileage reimbursement instead.
How often do I get paid?

Weekly, by direct deposit. Veyo takes no commission from your trip rates.
